Things to do in Luang Prabang

This popular tourist city, Luang Prabang, is full of things to see and do, making it one of the most renowned Southeast Asian "little people". It was the capital of Laos until the title was taken by Vientiane, but to date, no other city in the region can match the untapped beauty and serene atmosphere of Luang Prabang.

Tourism is the most important financial resource of the city, but despite hundreds of thousands of tourists flock to this agreement each year, Luang Prabang has been able to control the pressure to development, and continued after a largely traditional culture. Cooking classes: there is no better way to enjoy the taste of local cuisine of Laos after cooking for yourself … or at least trying to cook yourself. There are a lot of cooking classes in some of the biggest restaurants in town. For a small price, most of the classes provide the ingredients, equipment, a chef and sometimes a recipe book for participants to take home.

Vipassana temple: for those tourists who are fascinated Buddhist culture by joining the alms ceremony every morning is just the product of land in Luang Prabang. The Temple of Gold Vipassana is a structure located near of the city. Here, monks practice Vipassana meditation, so if you visit the area, local rules must be respected, and the noise has to be minimum.

Night market: like most other major cities in Southeast Asia, Luang Prabang is an interesting market could. Here, sellers typically sell merchandise that one would expect from a night bazaar, including traditional crafts, art, clothing, souvenirs and food. Note care that some of the souvenirs can be made from endangered animals. Unlike Bangkok and Chiang Mai in Thailand, Luang Prabang night market near the 21:00 to adhere to the rules of strict 23:00 curfew in the city.

Kuang Si Falls, located on the outskirts of the city is fabulous Kuang Si waterfall, which is probably one of the most visited natural attractions in the city. It is very beautiful, and the high number of tourists who visit every day is very easy to make new friends while bathing in many pools around the waterfall.

Pak Ou Caves, located only one hour the city of Luang Prabang, Pak ou caves are one of the most interesting natural places in Laos. Commonly known as the Caves of Buda, these caves are magnificent stone, but the upper cave is not for the faint of heart.

Trekking: There are a number of trails and paths for hiking around Luang Prabang. Fair Trek project is a popular tour that focuses on people outside traditional offer experiences for tourists and income for poor people.
