Manila Tonight (ManilaTonight.com) is an adult website for which membership is required — no one but a member can access it. Consequently, my post will not deal with that particular resource. You can join it and find out what you are curious about for yourself.
Here are a few websites that have some discussion about Manila’s bar scene:
- AsiaTravelTips.com: Bars in Manila
- VirtualTourist: Manila Nightlife (You can select the type of nightlife you want to be displayed)
- NightHawkJourneys.com: Manila Nightlife Guide
- Spot.ph: Where to Go Tonight: The Bar & Club Scene This Week (From what I could tell with my short visit to this website, the clubs and bars profiled are not limited to Manila; and it’s extremely easy to get lost trying to negotiate through the website)
- NileGuide.com: Top 10: Latest Manila Bars, Clubs & Nightlife
- ManilaClubbing.com: Manila Clubbing – The Most Up to Date Manila Nightlife Guide
There are other such websites — this was just a sampling.
In working on this post, I was interested to learn that there is a venue reportedly somewhat similar to Bangkok’s Nana Entertainment Plaza. The Manila version is EDSA International Entertainment Complex, although I have seen it more simply called the EDSA Entertainment Complex. PoonWorld.com speaks of it (EDSA Entertainment Complex), as does Entertainment-Manila.com (Edsa International Entertainment Complex).
I am sure this video does not likely do it justice, since filming likely must be done on the sly:
EDSA International Entertainment Complex, Manila

The EDSA International Entertainment Complex in Pasay, Metro Manila. First the front neon signs facing F.B. Harrison Road. Then a look inside the atrium yard. Then a visit inside a lounge bar, typical for the complex. Then a view of the outside café where dancers and Guest Relations Officers relax when they are on break.
There is actually a lengthy 2007 review at StickmanBangkok.com titled EDSA – Manila’s Nana Plaza, if you want to get one person’s impression of the place.
I came across a video that left me feeling extremely uneasy about being abroad in Manila at night — in fact, it is something I would never do alone. However, much of that is because I am presently unable to run hard if I needed to, due to left knee surgery November 5, 2010, to reattach the quadriceps tendon that had gotten ripped clean off my kneecap:
